Summit Country Day Narrowly Defeats Ryle at Holiday Hardwood Classic

CINCINNATI- The final game of the first day of the Holiday Hardwood Classic was a thriller, with Summit Country Day squeaking past Northern Kentucky's Ryle HS 57-54 at the Cintas Center on the campus of Xavier University.

Summit Country Day, led by former University of Cincinnati guard (and Summit alum) Kevin Johnson, entered the game and left the game undefeated. The Silver Knights held a nine-point lead at halftime, but ultimately a strong third quarter from Ryle gave them a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Summit was able to do just enough to take home a three-point victory.

With 21 points in the winning effort, Summit's Tim Martin was named the Beacon Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Player of the Game. He was the only player for Summit in double-figures except for Cayleb Walters, who pitched in 11 points in the win.
