The penultimate game of the 2023-24 LaRosa's Holiday Hardwood Classic featured Cincinnati Moeller taking on Covington Holmes in a battle between two iconic schools.

The scoring started with a steal and lay-in by Moeller's Alex Kazanecki followed by an and-one by Noah George, prompting a quick Highlands timeout. Another three-pointer by Kyle Havens and layup by Eric Mahaffey made it a quick 10-0 Moeller lead. Kazanecki nailed another three-pointer to make it 13-0 before Highlands called another timeout. Finally, Highlands got on the board on a layup by Brayden Moeves. At the end of the first quarter, Moeller held a 17-4 lead.

The second quarter began with another Moeller layup followed by a Moeves three-pointer. Highlands broke into double-digits on a layup by Hank Shick, and ultimately slightly chipped away before halftime. Moeller held a 27-15 heading into the break.

The second half started just like the first half, with two Kazaneci three-pointers sandwiched between a Highlands layup. Moeller continued to hold serve throughout the remainder of the quarter, taking a 47-24 lead heading into the final frame with a buzzer-beating alley-oop slam by Kingston Land.

The fourth quarter was simply more of the same, and Moeller ultimately took home a lopsided 55-32 victory.
