After winning the Ohio state championship a year ago, the Taft Senators come into the Holiday Hardwood Classic riding high.
The Senators are hoping to repeat the magic this year, despite returning just two starters (Eian Elmer and Kieran Grandville).
The Senators highest-leading scorer from a year ago, guard Rayvon Griffith, is now playing at Compass Prep in Phoenix, Arizona as he prepares to continue his career in college playing for the University of Cincinnati next year. Nevertheless, Taft is set for a strong squad again in the 2022-23 season.
Elmer, a 6'7 senior, currently leads Taft with 16 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. He is just one of several premier big men playing in this showcase, including Sycamore's Raleigh Burgess.
Taft is set to take on Withrow in the fifth game of the Holiday Hardwood Classic on Thursday, Dec. 29 at 1:00pm.
